Fairmount Opening Illinois Racing Season May 6 The Illinois Racing Commission Monday granted eleven licenses for meetings at Fairmount Park, the first meeting beginning on May 6 and the last one ending October 14. The attorney-general having ruled that the form of the applications were legal, Fairmount Park will be dark on Mondays, except when they fall on a holiday or some other such special occasion. Fairmount Park will operate a total of fifty-nine days during the period between the dates mentioned. The spring sessions are from May 6, a meeting of one day; May 9-13, five flays; May 16-20, five days; May 23-June 3, eleven days, and June 6-10, five days. The autumn program calls for an inaugural on September 2, ending September 9, seven days, followed by five more meetings of five days each, from September 12-16, September 19-23, September 26-30, October 3-7 and October 10-14. This is the most unusual procedure in the history of the Racing commission t in Illinois. However, Fairmount Park has no opposition in its territory and, therefore, there was ho great objection to its request.
