SEEK STALLS AT H0MEW00D General Manager Jackson Receives Reservations for 600 Horses. Washington Park, to Be Opened April 15 Many Plan to Race at Crete Winn Departs. John D. Jackson, general manager of Washington Park, announced Monday that despite the fact the Homewood track will not inaugurate its meeting until July 31, the Homewood organization has received reservations for over 600 stalls. Jackson explained, however, that many of the horsemen seeking accommodations at the south side course plan to race at Lincoln Fields, which opens the Chicago racing season on May 24. Aurora in the past opened the Chicago season on May 1, but gave up its dates this year because of dissatisfaction with the number of days it was allotted. Col. Matt Winn, who departed Monday afternoon for Louisville, where he will remain until after the running of the Kentucky Derby on May 6, said that Lincoln Fields would be opened for horses and training work on May 1. In the meantime those horsemen intending to race at Lincoln Fields would be accommodated at Washington Park. The Homewood track will be ready to receive horses on April 15, two weeks before Lincoln Fields is opened. Among the stables reserving stall room at Homewood, according to Jackson, is the Shady Brook Farm stable. Trainer George Brooks plans to bring twelve of the Shady Brook campaigners and the string may include Timeful, the Mueller Kentucky Derby candidate. The two noted brothers-in-law, Benny Creech and C. E. Davison, will bring big strings to Washington Park, the former twenty-two horses and the latter seventeen. They will resume their feud when Washington Park opens and may pit their skill against each other at Lincoln Fields. Other stable reservations are Wesley Sears, twelve; Friedberg and Axton, seventeen; A. C. Ernst, twelve; Lexbrook Farm, fifteen; C. H. Cleary, twelve; H. S. Swift, four; J. C. Metz, six, and R. Mcllvaine, eight. Montell Steward, a newcomer to racing, will introduce his colors under the stable name of Montell Farm.
