REEDER EN ROUTE TO EAST Stops Of f in Chicago for Conference With Krutckoff North Randall Racing Secretary. Julius Reeder, one of the most popular racing secretaries in the country, passed through Chicago Monday en route to Cleveland, Ohio, where he will officiate at the North Randall meeting, opening May 27 and closing July 4. Reeder spent most of Monday conferring with Charles Krutckoff, president of the Hawthorne track, where he also acts as racing secretary. Krutckoff and Reeder went over plans for the coming meeting at the old west side track but refused to reveal whether or not the Hawthorne Gold Cup was to be renewed again this year. North Randall officials have spent 25,000-improving the stands and other structures at the former trotting track. Most of these improvements have been completed. When Reeder arrives he will immediately open the racing secretarys office, he said. Minimum purses of 00 are scheduled at the Cleveland track, and two ,000 minimum stake races are on the program. Other handicaps are to have a value of ,500, ,200, ,000 and 00. This schedule has proved mighty attractive to midwestern horsemen, and requests for stall room are heavy.
