MEETING AT BARRINGTON BARRINGTONBOSTON BOSTON Mass May 22 The likeli ¬ hood that a thirtyday race meeting may be held in the western part of Massa ¬ chusetts came with the announcement that Edward J Carroll had purchased the Barrington Fair Grounds The sec tion of the state where the Fair Grounds are located voted for mutuel betting In the past the Great Barrington Fair had conducted a sixday fair meeting Under the Massachusetts law ninety days of horse racing is allowed besides the dates allotted to state fairs This year Suffolk Downs has taken sixty days leaving thirty that could be granted to the Great Barrington Fafr Grounds Edward J Carroll has been operating an amuse ¬ ment park at Agawani for the past cou ¬ ple of years
