SANDERS, well handled, saved ground while outrun early, moved up when ready and, after taking command in the stretch, drew out to win with something left. FAST START, a sharp factor throughout, held on determinedly when hard urged in the final quarter, but could not reach the winner. MERITORIOUS, slow to begin, worked his way up steadily, came between horses on the final turn and closed stoutly under punishment. BURMAN, outrun through the first five-eighths, came to the inside for the drive and finished strongly. CORALIE B. was unable to threaten under eood handling and had no mishaps. DARBY DEMON faltered after racing forwardly placed to the stretch. HOME FOLKS took command in the back stretch, but failed to retain his advantage when called upon for the drive. BOBBIN and HADADEAR were done early. LINGER ON raced in closest pursuit of MOTHERS GIRL to the final eighth, shook off the latter and continued gamely under punishment to withstand ALROSE. The latter worked his way up steadily through the first half mile, came out slightly for the drive and finished strongly, but could not reach the winner. ARROWTRACTION, well placed and a forward factor from the start, came to the inside entering the stretch and closed determinedly. MOTHERS GIRL raced to the front at once, set the pace under occasional urging to the final eighth, then faltered. TINDER GAL raced evenly without mishap. HIS HIGHNESS had brief early speed. PRINCE GALE worked his way up steadily and closed determinedly under punishment. STOP II. raced evenly to the stretch, then faltered. SABRA was unable to threaten and had no excuses.
