All races, with the exception of the fourth race, which is for ,r two-year-old maidens, carry the claiming B clause. Although there is no outstanding feature, the fifth offering, which has been 11 styled the Chicago Executives Purse, will [J headline the wash-day program. This race, t. which is for four-year-olds and upward, I. will be a test of one mile and one-eighth 1 for a purse of ,000 value. Brown Bomb, a veteran gelding from the » stable of Joe W. Brown who is making his first start at this meeting, appears to have a slight edge over this field of ten starters. The Brown colorbearer has had plenty of j races this year and won an engagement at 1 Tropical Park at the same distance. The - dockers report that he has been working f well around the turns on this half-mile | oval. Equioval looks like the one that will offer the stiffest competition in the feature. Mr. Smith, from the stable of Clark and Hedde, who is making his third start here in this ; event, has already been returned a winner. He won his first start at the distance route of one mile and seventy yards. Others that are named to face the starter in the head-liner are Idle Lad, Miss Pittypat, Wayriel, Heno Lion, Muscatine, Buyer Beware and Lyner. The other races carded for the Monday program all have well balanced fields and should offer an interesting day of sport.
