Stickney Purse Tests Ten Capable Routers Hernandez Saddles Allenjay And Vegas Justice in Event CICERO, 111.? May 11.— Enjoying one of the best meetings since this track was converted into a running track. Sportsmans Park, Chicagos only half-mile oval, reports that the mutuel handle for the first 13 days of the meeting is close to one-third over that of the fall meeting held here last year. Attendance has been far above expectations with large crowds passing through the turnstiles daily. Tomorrows program of eight events, which marks the final "Ladies Day" of the current meeting, features the "Stickney," an allowance event for three- and four-year-olds at a mile and seventy yards for a ,200 purse. This offering brings together a field of ten routers, all of whom have been seen under colors during the current 19-day meeting. In this feature the Hernandez stable will be represented by the entry of Allenjay and Vegas Justice. Allenjay, a four-year-old gelding by Brevity and Grade, a winner of his last start, at a mile and one-sixteenth in which he led throughout, appears to be the likely one to make the entry the favorite. The other half of the entry, the four-year-old gelded son of Justice F. and Old Castle, is always a hard-knocking horse and will give his stablemate real support. In his last race here, he showed a lot of early speed, only tiring in the final sixteenth of a mile. The three-year-old filly, Youroff, from fcl_9 stable of Mrs. V. Sovinski, looms as the one to cause the stiffest competition in this event. The daughter of Head Play and Rocky Cliff finished fourth in her recent outing and has shown that she favors the longer routes. Others who will compete in the Stickney are such routers as Even Tan, Cirio, Fujiwara, Masculine, Bobloy, French Horn and Rose-Red.
