Silver State Park in Reno Now Open for Training LOS ANGELES, Calif.. May 11.— Charles J. Husband, general manager of the Silver State Racing Association, which has scheduled a meeting at Reno, Nev., opening May 30, reports that the racing strip at Silver State Park is now in condition for the training of horses. He states that about 70 horses are on the grounds and that about 400 stall applications have been received. Stables at Silver State Park have been reconditioned and will accommodate 600 horses, and Husband reports that facilities will be enlarged to care for at least 1,000 head. A new inside rail has been built at the track, and work is progressing on the grandstand and clubhouse. Condition books covering the first seven days of the session have been mailed to horsemen. The opening-day program is elaborate, with the minimum purse being 50. A ,000 Inaugural Handicap is scheduled, but in the event that it does not fill, the condition book states that a ,000 handicap will be offered. Officials of the Silver State Jockey Club listed are Judge H. W. Edwards, president; Abe Harris, vice-president, and Jack Winston, secretary. The directors are John Boles, Jack Harmon, Harry Depaoli. Irma L. Redick and Charles J. Husband. No racing officials have as yet been announced.
