Wool ford Farm to Race Large Stable at Crete Higdon Will Have Thirty-Three Head in Care at 30-Day Session CRETE, HI.. May 11.— The Woolford Farm stable of Herbert M. Woolf, whose colors are as familiar as any on the Chicago racing front, is returning to Lincoln Fields this spring with 33 head. Trainer Ross A. Higdon has most of them at Churchill Downs, but that division will be augmented by a number of thoroughbreds to come from the farm in Kansas. The most prominent member of this stable is Contradiction, but he may not be ready for competition during the meeting, which opens next Monday. He will be under light preparation here, but whether he gets to the post before the Lincoln Fields season ends on June 20 will depend on how rapidly he responds to training. Contradiction sustained an injury In winning the Pimlico Futurity last fall, and he has not been under colors since. He was turned out all winter at the Woolford farm, and recently was sent to Churchill Downs to begin training. He was one of the nations outstanding two-year-olds last year, and hopes are held that he will be holding his own with the countrys top three-year-olds before this year is out. Woolford Farm, however, will not be without horses of stakes caliber at Lincoln Fields, even if Contradiction does not get into competition. With the stable will be such other able runners as Joe Schenck, Signator, Kansas City and Inscolad. Another bright prospect in the Woolf barn is the two-year-old Adulator, a probable candidate for the Joliet Stakes. Adulator, a son of Insco and Mea, won at the first asking at Churchill Downs, and his connections think he is a colt of excellent prospects. Some of the other horses that trainer Higdon is bringing to Lincoln Fields are Pig Tails, Quenemo, Veiled Prophet, Famed, Technician, Blue Garter, Tip Your Hat, Sil-vestra, My Shadow, Unquote, Bayport and the two-year-olds, Predictable, Nod, Fealty and Even Stitch. Other members of the Woolford forces are assistant trainer Woody Stephens, jockey Warren Strickler, and apprentice Harry Hart.
