Afmy-Navy Day July 18 At Hamilton, O. Track HAMILTON, Ohio, June 29. Saturday, July 18, has been designated Army-Navy Relief Day at the meeting of running races here, D. E. "Danny" Cronin, president and general manager of the Ohio Sports Enterprises, Inc., announced today. On that day, all purses will be paid in war bonds and all salaries will be met in war bonds and stamps. In addition, the Ohio Sports Enterprises, Inc., will make an outright donation of 53,000 to the Army and Navy Emergency Relief Fund. Cronin estimated that the war effort will realize 0,000 from the day, this sum being approximately what the war bonds awarded to horsemen and the salaries, along with the ,000 donation, will run. Carrying out the war motif still farther, Cronin said that large Vs for victory will adorn the top of each distance marker at the track and the winners circle will not be a circle at all but a mammoth V. The meeting opens Saturday, July 4, and will continue for 19 days. Twilight racing is carded daily at 4:15 p.m., excepting Saturdays, when the post time will be 2:15.
