Illinois Notes ARLINGTON PARK, Arlington Heights, 111., June 29.- Harry Becker shipped in four horses belonging to the Hopeful Stock Farm from Lincoln Fields. They are Galley Sweep, New Discovery, Floy G., and Beau-Ary. The latter is a two-year-old colt by Beau Tod and Canary and is the first get of that sire. The horses Ventura Maid and Pacific Maid are due here on Thursday from Suffolk Downs. They belong to Edward and William Janss and will be received by Stanley Devore who already has a number of the Janss horses at Arlington Park. A visitor at Arlington Park Saturday was Corporal George Lisko, a former stable agent who is a gunner in the Air Corps. He is on a 10-day leave from his station at Columbia, S. C. George Bowman, 17-year-old Louisville rider, had the first mount of his career when he rode Linger On in the third race Saturday. He is under contract to Frank PJLetellier. Sam Sechrest has received- the horses, Country Gent, La Cameche and Old Maid, from .California. They are owned by Chester Lauck, who already had, Lums Pride and other horses at Arlington Park. The Arcturus Stables Pink Gal, who injured herself late in the Lincoln Fields season, has been sent to the Murphy farm near Louisville to be turned out, it was announced by trainer Harry Saladin. Mrs. R. H. Heighes Adroit is to be sent here from the East for the Arlington Lassie Stakes, to be run July 11, according to word received by racing secretary Robert S. Shelley. T. A. Janicki announced he has taken over the training of the Hilltop Stock Farm horses. Seven of the thoroughbreds are here at Arlington Park and the other two are still at Lincoln Fields. Lester Balaski has been engaged to ride William, E. Boeings Welcome Pass in the Rolling Lawn Handicap Wednesday, and Louis B. Mayers Sir Jeffrey in the Northwestern Handicap the following day. Headed by the Stars and Stripes candidates, Marriage and Hypocrite, the stable of Coward and Du Puy reached Arlington Park Saturday. The string came from Detroit. F. W. Cairy, who owns Mordecai and other horses, is coming from his home in Sioux City, Iowa, in a few days, according to trainer Carmody Vanscoy. Jockey Jack Flinchum will be here after the close of the Fairmount Park meeting and will do much of the riding for R. S. Byrum. Private F. L. Trimble, former jockey now stationed at Battery F., Fort Taylor, Key West, Fla., would like to hear from some of his oli buddies. John G. McAtee arrived here from Fair-mount Park with three horses he will race through the remainder of the Arlington season. D. H. Carroll is back from his home in San Antonio and has resumed the training of Woodsaw, Patched Pants and Leading Article for B. P. Woodson. Joe Bollero altered plans for the return of M. A. Kerns Potranco to Detroit and may start him in the Northwestern Handicap on Thursday. Jake Lowenstein said this morning that he plans to start Heartman in the Rolling Lawn Handicap Wednesday and has engaged Arthur Craig to ride the horse. C. E. Dale checked in here over the weekend from Omaha with the horses Easy Goer, Safety Light, Maetown and Blaufuss. Jockey Ted King arrived over the weekend from Detroit and reported to R. A. Coward. The Eldorado Farms Eldo Boy has been unsexed, according to Dr. G. B. McKillip, who performed the operation. C. C. Norman vanned 10 horses here from Lincoln Fields over the week-end. They are the property of various owners. T. A. Janicki has left Washington Park for Hamilton, Ohio, with the horses, Five Fifty and Minrab. I. C. Mishler, who has a number of horses here in charge of A. J. Plack, has returned to his home in Chattanooga. Former jockey W. O. Webster, now a private in the Army, is stationed at Colorado Springs.
