Sun Again will be remembered mostly for his victory in the 1941 Arlington Futurity in which he led his stablemates, Some Chance and Wishbone, to the wire to make it a "grand slam- for Calumet in that rich fixture. Both Some Chance and Wishbone have been acquired by new owners since, with the former now a member of the Abram S. Hewitt stable and the latter in the string of John M. Hutchins. Some Chance is in the Myrtlewood under 114 pounds, a pleasing weight assignment in view of his two recent victories in the Roseben and Plymouth Rock Handicaps. Thus, a chance to see the Arlington Futurity "grand slam" trio all face each other was lost for the time being. Thumbs Up, four-year-old son of Blenheim II. and the Man o War mare, Gas Bag, hasnt won a stake thus far this season but did finish third in both the Toboggan and Metropolitan handicaps. Last season the Mayer colorbearer was victorious in the Glencoe Handicap at Arlington Park, the Great Western at Washington and the Maryland Handicap at Laurel.
