DEDLOCK, in hand while «ving ground to "the stretch, came determinedly, when hard urged during the stretch run and disposed of BRIAR SHARP in the last sixteenth. BRIAR SHARP, slow to begin, improved his position steadily in the first three eighths, took command when roused and continued gamely, but could not withstand the wmnfr. THE GIGGLER, rushed up fast after the start, faltered after racing forwardly placed to the stretch. ORCUS raced to the front earlv, set the pace for three eighths and then tired. OCEAN BOUND could not threaten. VALDINA LOVE could not reach serious contention under good handling. POPS RIVAL was done after three eighths and was not persevered with when hopelessly beaten. BARUNA, well ridden and in hand to the upper turn, responded readily when called upon and was up to dead heat with ABRUPT for first. The latter, a forward factor from the start, went to the front when BOOT AND SPUR faltered, held on gamely during the stretch run and lasted to finish on equal terms with BARUNA. ONE TIP moved up resolutely on the inside after going three eiehths. but could not better his position thereafter. HERE SHE IS finished well after beginning slowly. BOOT AND SPUR had speed to the half an.i then gave way. GRANO SALTIS. on the inside, could not keep up. CALS PET lost ground entering the stretch and drifted out badly thereafter. BRUTUS, well placed and a forward factor throughout, could not better his position under strong handling. DARBY DEAN, on the inside, faltered nearing the finish. STEM-WINDER began well and had brief earlv speed. PLUCKY MUFFIN could not threaten. IRRESISTIBLE tired. MY PORTER was always outrun. GOOSEBERRY dwelt at the start, losing all chance. MISTUCKY came to the inside entering the stretch, but could not better her position under strong handline. BUTTERMILK tired after setting the pace in the first halt. BOSUNETTE could not threaten and had no mishaps. LYDIA K. beean slowly and bore out the entire trip.
