New York Notes AQUEDUCT, L. I., N. Y.. June 18. George Woods is handling the riding engagements of jockey Eric Guerin during the current meeting. Apprentice W. Leslie arrived from Kentucky and applied for a license to ride at the New York courses. He is under contract to S. Hazzard. Jockey R. Hidalgo accepted his first mount of the Aqueduct meeting when he rode War Master in the final race today. Trainer Arthur White was granted permission from the stewards to waive the apprentice bugs on Executive, a starter in the opening race today. With jockey Joe Renick in the saddle, the colt carried 110 pounds. During the first 10 days of the current meeting 18 claims were recorded, totaling 7,950. Trainer Jacob Byer was given permission by the stewards to race Miss Skylark, a starter in the fifth race yesterday, with blinkers. Hunt Stromberg, motion-picture producer, entertains a party of six in the Aqueduct clubhouse yesterday. Herbert Bayard Swope, chairman of the New York State Racing Commission, re turned from Washington to attend todays races. Single, a starter in the second race, carried 118 pounds and was ridden by jockey Warren Mehrtens following the stewards Dermission to trainer George Casey to waive the allowance. Len Golos, Universal Pictures executive, was a spectator at the Aqueduct course yesterday. Jockey O. Grohs packed nis boots and saddle and left for Chicago. Arnold Hanger, who races a useful string of horses on the Metropolitan circuit, was a visitor here yesterday.
