Gay Dalton Wins Americas Handicap by Fifteen Lengths MEXICO CITY, Mexico, April 24.— Gay Dalton, Denton and Burts four-year-old son of American Flag and Traumerette, trained by Capt. Patrick Irving OHay, the soldier of fortune, won the 5,000 Handicap de las Americas at Hipodromo de las Americas yesterday before the largest crowd of the season, packing 130 pounds including jockey Mel Duhon. G. Z. Carranzas Seeing Eye, j winner of the Mexican Derby, was second and Riding Light third. Gay Dalton trailed his field for three-quarters of a mile, at one time being as [much as 18 lengths behind his rivals. He j turned on a terrific burst of speed after | three-quarters and. in an eighth of a mile, moved into third place. He was only two : lengths behind at the end of the mile. From , there on he had things his own way.
