; First Ten Days of Gansett 1 Sport Nets State 64,542 PAWTUCKET, R. I.. April 24.— From the receipts of the first 10 days of operation t Narragansett Park, the racing association paid to the state of Rhode Island as a tax ; on pari-mutuel wagering and breakage the : sum of 64,542.42, an average of 6,454.24 : per day. These figures make it very apparent that • the state will receive approximately 1 ,000,000 in taxes from the operation of the 28-day spring meeting, a sum 50 percent greater than the amount estimated by the state auditor when making up the state budget for the fiscal year.
