Y., May 22. Mrs. F. Ambrose Clarks Boojum I n. and Raylywn. ran one-two in the forty-second running of the 0,000 Corinthian I Steeplechase Handicap, feature of todays i Belmont Park program. A length separated the two bearers of the familiar light blue 1 silks, while Kent Millers War Battle finished another length away in third place, 20 lengths before C. Mahlon Klines Pursuit Plane. Bayard Sharps Lieut. Well i was even money on the odds board and was i last to finish, running a dull race after a , very slight bobble at the second fence. The Clark entry paid .40, .00 and .80 across the board. John Magee, perennial leading rider over the obstacles, rode Boojum n., a ten-year-old Irish jumper, who won the International Steeplechase earlier this month. Brookmeade Stables Fleettown, who was well supported, lost jockey Frank Adams at the third fence. Adams suffered a cut knee when stepped on by Fleettown but was not seriously injured. Fleettown continued with the field, managing to make quite a nuisance of himself in the course of the race. Full Sisters Triumph The smallest crowd of the season, 16,513, turned out in miserable rainy weather. The wagering was also light during the afternoon. Favorites fared none too well, with only the first and third races of the first six being won by the public choices. Joe W. Brown, Johnny Theall and Eric Guerin scored a double when the full sisters, Dorothy B. Jr. and Dorothy Brown, won the third and sixth races. George Cassidy sent the field of seven away to a ragged start in the Corinthian, with Fleettown going to the front, followed by Boojum n., Raylywn, War Battle, Floating Isle, Lieut. Well and Pursuit Plane. Adams slid over Fleettowns head at the fence opposite the lower end of the grandstand. Floating Isle moved up to take command a couple of lengths before Boojum n., who led War Battle by a little more than a length, and Raylywn, Lieut. Well and Pursuit Plane strung out behind them. Floating Isle began to tire going down the far side and Boojum n. took command, with Ralyywn also moving up, and the entry rounded the far turn in the order in which they finished. Despite a bobble at the eighth fence, War Battle, who was topweight under 156 pounds, came on again gamelyf but didnt seriously threaten Boojum U. or Raylywn. Pursuit Plane passed an exhausted Floating Isle, while Lieut. Well came out of the race in such distress that trainer-jockey William Passmore turned repeatedly in the saddle before dismounting, evidently to see if the gelding had suffered some injury to his hind legs. The Corinthian was deprived of some interest by the withdrawal of Kent Millers Elkridge, who would have been coupled with War Battle. Dorothy Browns victory came in the Catalina Handicap, which was the best of the offerings on the flat, and was achieved at the direct expense of Alfred G. Vander-bilts Nomadic, who was nearly two lengths away at the end of the mile and a furlong and just a head before William Helis Elpis, the favorite. William Nobles Kay Gibson was a distinct fourth in the field of six fillies and mares that was completed by Flame of India and Chaladette. Dorothy Brown returned .30 and ran the nine furlongs in 1:52, very good time considering the muddy track. Elpis and Nomadic vied for the early lead in the Catalina, while Guerin rated Dorothy Brown in third place, cut the corner at the head of the stretch, then came to the outside and drew away with speed to spare. Nomadic, who had taken the lead nearing the far turn and was momentarily passed by Elpis in the stretch, came on again to regain the place in the final yards.
