Sues Los Angeles Turf Club On Charge of False Arrest LOS ANGELES, Calif., May 22. John A. Gordon, 1 67, today had filed suit in the superior court against the Los Angeles Turf Club, operators of Santa Anita, Ar- cadia police officer, William S. Orr, and others. Gordon charged the defendants with false arrest and malicious persecution in that he was arrested on January 23 last at Santa Anita track by Orr and two private detectives working for the turf club and charged with being a vagrant, although he had upwards of ,000 in his pocket at the time. At his trial before justice J. R. Morton in Pasadena, the charge was dismissed for lack of evidence to support the accusation that Gordon had accepted a bet on the races. Gordon, a retired hardware merchant, came here 10 years ago from Chicago.
