CAPSICUM improved her position steadily to the stretch, responded to good handling during the drive and disposed of CINESAR during the last sixteenth, despite bearing out in the late stages. CINESAR disposed of DISPATCH nearing the stretch, established a clear lead and continued gamely under punishment, but was not good enough for the winner. LOOKOUT RASCAL, forced to take up when in close quarters near the three-eighths pole, came again when clear, but could not threaten the leaders. BROWN VICAR raced evenly without mishap. DISPATCH engaged CINESAR for three-eighths, then weakened. KNIGHT CAPPY was never dangerous. HIGH TALENT could not keep up after showing early speed. SALLY I. was outrun throughout. CLUB CAR, never far back, came to the outside of RATION approaching the stretch and, after taking command, withstood a brisk drive to hold MELLOW safe. The latter, outrun early, responded to punishment in the stretch and, closing determinedly, was getting to the winner at the finish. RATION went to the front early, gave way to CLUB CAR after three-eighths, then came again in the stretch, but could not overtake the leaders. LITTLE HARE raced evenly and had no excuse. HEESADATE dropped back steadily and was eased up in the stretch when hopelessly beaten. OURBERRA, outrun early but well handled, worked her way forward steadily to the stretch, responded to urging when set down for the drive and, disposing of the leaders, held IMPATIENCE safe. The latter went to the front early, bore out badly while making the pace to the stretch, continued to drift out thereafter and was not good enough for OURBERRA. WASHBURN held on well in a good effort. VALLEY TROUBLE, never far back, reached the lead in the stretch, then faltered near the finish. HI BOB had speed to the stretch, but failed to stay in the drive. MA TANNEY raced wide. LAWYER SLOPE, forced to take up when placed in close quarters on the upper turn, could not threaten thereafter. SUSIE C, alertly handled, assumed command early, responded to brisk urging through the stretch and held POODOO safe. The latter, away alertly and never far back, held on determinedly, but was not good enough for SUSIE C. STEEPLE JACK, away sluggishly, came out slightly entering the stretch, but could not better his position tinder strong handling. CASA LIBRE was never a serious factor. CONFIRMATION could not keep up. HASTY SUN, on the inside to the stretch, took command when settled for the drive and held on determinedly under punishment to hold SWEET DOUGH. The latter, a sharp factor from the start, reached the lead between calls near the finish, then stumbled, could not hold .the winner and Just missed. WESTERNAIRE, taken to the outside for the stretch run, could not better his position under brisk handling. TRACK ACE failed to stay after showing early speed. HENNY PENNY, away alertly and splendidly handled, was kept in a forward position to the stretch, assumed command when roused, then continued gamely under punishment to hold FINAL GLORY. The latter, forced to take up when caught in close quarters at the upper turn, was sent to the outside to secure racing room and, finishing determinedly under urging, could not overtake the winner. CREDENTIALS held on well in a sharp effort and had no mishap. MISS RHODA went to the front early, made the pace to the stretch, then weakened. LUTIE JANE began slowly. BREATH TAKER was outrun. LOST AND FOUND had brief speed, then gave way. WINTER SONG never was prominent. ESPIRITU stumbled repeatedly on the slow track and was far back throughout. SHOW, a keen factor from the start, moved up boldly entering the stretch, then hung during the drive. CADENCE, away alertly, held on determinedly in a good effort and had no excuse. ROSE CANYON lacked early speed, but finished fast. DEEP RED was outrun. FORT SCHUYLER tired. AGRARIAN SON never was dangerous. CLOSE UP was done early. PADUCAH went to the front early, made the pace to the stretch, then was taken back and lost command, command again when roused and disposed of GIANT SERVANT in the last sixteenth. GIANT SERVANT, forwardly placed from the beginning, reached the lead in the stretch and continued gamely, but was unable to hold PADUCAH, although easily best of the others. GAINER moved up boldly near the stretch, then failed to rally when roused for the drive. TACOMA raced evenly and had no excuse. GLENNPORT was outrun. DARBY DISMAY had early speed. TIDEOVER dropped back after the start, fell lame entering the stretch and was pulled up. Paducah claimed by G. Gorbet.
