MARK 0NIGHT, probably best, slipped through along the inside rail to reach the lead midway the final furlong, was bothered by the winner during the late stages, but held on stubbornly. CLOY, forced to take up sharply at the eighth post, was unable to reach the leaders when clear. FATE lacked a rally. FRANK MUNNS raced wide. DIXIE PEBBLE lacked speed. DEVILSH LAD was compelled to take the overland route when making his stretch bid. STONE HILL failed to stay. MR. TUNG stopped to a walk once displaced.
