Breeders Sales Company to Offer Total of 414 Yearlings at Four-Day Vendues Opening July 30 LEXINGTON, Ky;, June 2. — Unless there are unexpected last-minute withdrawals, the Breeders Sales Company will catalogue 414 selected yearlings for its four-day vendues at Keeneland on July 30 and 31, and August 1 and 2. General manager William S. Evans, of the cooperative sales organization, expects the completed catalogues about June 25. In the meantime, he and his staff are busy arranging hip numbers and other late details. The adoption this year of a new contract between the company and the consignors eliminates drawing for sales dates by the consignors who will alternate their sales dates each year during the life of the contract which is in effect until 1956. Only . those consignors who did not sell last year or new consignors will have to be, allotted sales dates. Continuing its policy of dividing the top consignors over the four-day sessions, the sales company offers the yearlings of the Spendthrift Farm of Leslie Combs II. and those of the Wood vale Farm of Royce G. Martin to top the first session on Monday, July 30. The following day, the Claiborne Stud of Arthur B. Hancock and the Stoner Creek Farm of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Hertz will share the spotlight. The Wednesday vendue will see the Mereworth Farm of Walter J. Salmon offer 43 youngsters supported by consignments from Charles Nuckols and Sons Hurstland Farm, Warner Jones Hermitage Farm and others. The Coldstream Stud of E. E. Dale Shaffer will feature the final session which includes the consignments of .Thomas Piatt, High Hope Farm of Douglas M. Davis, the Old Hickory Farm of Col. Phil T. Chinn and others. A new feature to be introduced into the catalogue by Evans is the publishing of the barn locations at Keeneland of the yearlings to be sold. The company will continue its practice of offering free buffet lunches in the clubhouse to buyers. Mrs. Helen Carruthers again will represent the sales company at Hollywood Park and Delaware Park. Sales will start daily at 1:39 p. m.
