KATHLEEN R raced BOSS JACK Into defeat to assume a commanding lead entering the stretch and held sway thereafter when ridden out. VIRGINIA DUKE moved up menacingly on the outside to challenge the leader nearing the furlong marker, then faltered. BOSS JACK, much used early had little left. JULIANA lacked a convincing rally. JOGGINS, closer to the early pace than usual, failed to respond for the drive. CLICKABLE passed tiring horses. LASS QUEST, away alertly, failed to respond when called upon for her best effort. BOLO HOWIE rallied too late to seriously endanger the leaders. DONNA L. had no%mishap. FIRST NIGHT, always within striking distance, was sent into closer contention on the near turn, disposed of BOLO PAT inside the final furlong and drew clear. BOLO PAT held a slight lead entering the stretch, faltered during the late stages, but held on willingly enough to be best of the others. GARRETT C. closed with a belated burst of speed and appears ready for a good route effort. HUSH MONEY tired under punishment. GENIES MATE quit. EMORY A. raced wide. FALSE MOVE began sluggishly. RAFFLE HOUSE saved ground to no avail. FRISK hobbled on the far turn and failed to regain best stride. WHIRLA LEA made the pace to the stretch under steady rating and, under brisk urging, held MISS BREAK safe. The latter raced in nearest attendance to the leader from the beginning, but failed to make up appreciable ground when hard ridden through the stretch. SWELL DISH was guided to the inside for the ultimate test, but was not good enough. BROWN LLAMA had no apparent mishap. LITTLE SNOW lacked speed. FLYING DELLA failed to gain the lead and tired ANNE RUTH, blocked on the far turn, failed to recover. The latter took command from the beginning, gave way to the winner near the furlong marker, forged to the front between calls during the stretch run, then was eased considerably during the concluding strides to permit his stablemate to annex top honors. SUN DAVID closed with good courage in a sharp effort. PROP, guided to the outside for the final test, failed to make Up appreciable ground.
