Hampton Official at Ascot ASCOT PARK, Northampton, Ohio, June 2. — Former jockey Orien Hampton is taking over a new role to further his long and varied career on the turf. He is the latest addition tolthe official family at this course and serves during this meeting as a paddock judge. This is his initial season as an official, but he has formerly been an owner, trainer, jockeys agent, valet and has filled just about every other position available. Hampton began as a jockey and, before retiring in 1929, rode for such well-known sportsmen as James Butler and L. T. Cooper.
