White Plans to Discuss Grid Offers With Canadian Teams EDMONTON, Alberta, June 4 UP. — Wilford "Whizzer" White, of Arizona Tempe State, last years leading ground-gainer in U. S. college football, was expected to meet with manager Al Anderson of the Edmonton Eskimos today to discuss a 1951 contract with the Western Football Conference Club. White, 21-year-old halfback, was scouted by Edmonton officials during the winter in the East-West Shrine Game at San Francisco. He averaged 1% yards every time he carried the ball last season. Early this year he was drafted by the Chicago Bears of the National Football League. White indicated that he was more interested in playing in Canada, however. He said if he didnt accept the Edmonton offer he would seek a berth with either the Saskatchewan Rough Riders or the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
