Schweitzer; bred by E. Costello. WENT TO POST-3:47. OFF AT 3:48 EASTERN STANDARD TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. LIBERTY A., never far back, was taken out slightly for the stretch run and, responding to brisk urging, wore down the leaders, then lasted to withstand CLAY PIGEON. The latter, on the inside from the start, was weakly handled during the drive, closed well on her own courage, but could not overtake the top one, just missing. GRANNY D. began fast and raced prominently throughout, finished willingly, but could not overtake the leaders. GREY SCOUT, on the outside during the last three-eighths, closed fast. AIR ARM went to the front early, made the pace until inside the stretch, then faltered. ACME raced evenly to the stretch, but failed to rally when set down in the drive. VALDINA DECOY was never dangerous. LIMERICK BOY began slowly. LITTLE ZAC tired after showing early speed. STEADY BEAU showed nothing. BON LYNN steadily improved her position after the opening quarter mile, responded to punishment during the stretch run and, after racing by LULLABY TIME, won going away. BUCKS FANCY lacked early foot, was sent to the inside for the drive and, bearing to the inside under punishment, could not get to the winner, although much the best of the others. EAST HILL gave a good effort and had no mishap. LULLABY TIME assumed an early lead, made the pace to the last eighth, then weakened. NOBLE IDEA was never prominent. PETITE BAYOU showed nothing. THIRD OVAL could not keep up. HURSTLAND began fast, displayed speed for three-eighths mile, then drifted out badly while tiring. Scratched— 30110 Just the Same, 110. REBATE went to the front early, raced TOLECA into defeat entering the stretch and, holding on determinedly under strong handling, lasted to hold MONFALON. The latter, forwardly placed from the start and saving ground, finished well, but could not overtake the winner. SOMA LAD raced evenly to the stretch, was on the outside for the drive and closed willingly under punishment. DELIGHTED lacked early speed and could not better her position when set down through the stretch. THE FARMER was never dangerous. TOLECA raced with REBATE until inside the stretch, then weakened. Won handily; second and third driving. PARTRIDGE saved ground while working way forward to the stretch, responded to mild urging during the drive and, and after disposing of JATAK, won going away. JATAK was sent to the front early, made the pace until inside the stretch, faltered when challenged by the winner, but lasted to withstand SIGNALS BLOKE. The latter, far back and outrun to the last three-eighths, was sent to the inside for the stretch run and closed resolutely under brisk urging. STICK-TOME, away fast, engaged JATAK until reaching the stretch, but had nothing left for the drive. FLARES DURBAR had early speed, but tired and raced wide during the last quarter mile. TIGER MATT began alertly, engaged DEAR TINT until inside the stretch, then faltered. SIR COBO had early speed and gave a good effort, probably needing his race. NIGHT PARADE was outrun.
