Stakes Hopefuls Work Out GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 28. A number of candidates for the two final stakes events at Garden State Park were caught in private trials over the week-end. Harborvale Stables Dark Peter and Carolyn K Stables Hi Billee, both training for the 0,000 added Camden Handicap on Decoration Day, were given warmup spins of four furlongs. Without being fully extended, Dark Peter was timed in :50 and Hi Billee in :52. Two rivals for top honors in the 0,000 added Jersey Stakes, closing day fixture, also had useful tune-ups over the racing strip. Gustave Smiths Handsome Teddy worked five furlongs easily in 1:02, and Max Kahl-baums Jampol had a handy whirl of three furlongs, breezing home in :36.
