HIGH FLAVOR soon drw out slightly from the field, increased his margin around the far turn and. withstanding a challenge from AURORA DEB after entering the stretch, went gamely to the end. ROY 0. was never far away and came steadily through the stretch to be pressing the winner. ROSILY found an opening in the stretch and was going well at the end. AURORA DEB came to the inside of HIGH FLAVOR in the stretch, but weakened slightly in the last eighth. WOOD H was wide in the early part and was never a contender. OUR GIFT was closest to HONEST AL until well into the stretch, then easily forged to the front to draw away nearing the end. BUT WHY lacked any semblance of early speed, but came very fast on the inside through the last eighth. FLASHY MANNER was never too far away in a steady effort. HONEST AL was used up making the pace and tired. COMMON SENSE was off slowly, was badly outrun until the race was virtually finished, then came strongly. ADMIRALS WAVE followed MY FAITH closely while the latter was making the pace and, catching her around the stretch turn, quickly opened up a good advantage, but was forced to the utmost to last to beat SMART COOKIE. The latter came fast under hard urging in the stretch and might have won in a few more strides. BURNT LOOK closed ground . in the stretch and was racing strongly at the end. INSULATION went evenly. MY FAITH showed good speed for three-eighths, then began to tire. CREME-DE-COCOA was rather fractious before the start, raced up slightly after going a short distance and then dropped out of it. PARKVIEW sprinted to the front right after the start and, although showing an inclination to bear out in the stretch, was too good for the others. WEEP NO MORE, well up from the start, appeared to be bohered slightly when PARKVIEW bore out but was not good enough and weakened in the last eighth. FANCY FOOD failed to threaten. PLUNGER dropped some distance back of the leaders soon after s the start, closed a gap In the last quarter to finish fastest of all and might prefer a longer distance. BLUE SQUARE raced evenly. AIR MAIL was placed close up in the early running while racing on the Inside, then came out after entering the stretch to catch SCREEMIN JACK entering the last furlong and drew out under hand riding thereafter. CACOMO was a trailer in the early part, but was not too far removed and, coming strongly on the outside, through the stretch, was too good for the others In the final drive. SCREEMIN JACK displayed good speed in pacemaking and showed a fair degree of courage when challenged. TATTENHAM was close up in the first half mile, but Weakened in the last eighth.
