Wendell Eads Hospitalized HAWTHORNE, Cicero, 111.,. May 28. Jockey Wendell Eads, who has been staging Something of a comeback at this meeting and who guided Andy B. W. to victory in the Fleming Memorial Handicap Saturday, was hospitalized Tuesday following a fracas outside the race track. It is reported the rider suffered severe facial lacerations and other injuries during a fight with, a mysterious assailant. Eads last rode at Hawthorne Monday when he steered one winner. The Hawthorne stewards are investigating the cause of the melee.
