Lamoureux; bred by J. Bromley. WENT TO POST-3:48. OFF AT 3:48 EASTERN STANDARD TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. LADY LOCKS, alertly handled, assumed command at once, made the pace to the stretch under steady rating, then responded readily when set down in the drive and held MERRY SWEEPER safe. The latter, a sharp factor from the start, closed gamely under urging, but could not get to the top one. OPEN WAY gave a good effort and had no mishap. SIR SWEEP, never far back, failed to rally when set down for the stretch run. ARPEGE was unable to threaten the leaders, but had no excuse. BOLDGER was outrun. BALLYHEATHER was never prominent. AIRDROME began alertly, but failed to stay after showing early speed. OCEAN CLIPPER showed nothing. STORM BIRD was far back for the entire trip. B0FAYE had brief speed. SHIBBOLETH was hustled to the front early, raced PETES COMET into defeat before entering the stretch,. then continued gamely under brisk urging to withstand TILE MAN. The latter, never far back, finished determinedly under punishment, but could not reach the top one. STEAMBOAT BILL raced evenly to the stretch and then made up ground during the drive. PHAROS DREAM lacked early speed. PETES COMET engaged SHIBBOLETH for a half mile, then gave way. PHARAPOISE saved ground throughout, but tired during the drive. BEEP BEEP had no mishap. Won easily; second and third driving. MONEY BROKER, forwardly placed from the start, bumped with UNCLE FUD at the stretch turn and, after establishing a good lead, retained the advantage without need of urging. GOOD TIMES went to the front early, made the pace to the stretch, then was unable to hold the winner, but easily bested the others. TEACHER K. was unable to seriously threaten the leaders when set down in the drive. UNCLE FUD began fast, was forced wide at the stretch turn after bumping with MONEY BROKER, then failed to rally when clear. HERA LOT could not keep up. NARVIKO went to the front after three-eighths mile, steadily increased the advantage and won with something left. BESTOVER assumed command soon after the start, made the pace until challenged by NARVIKO, gave way to the latter, but continued steadily and was easily best of the others. LADY MIDAS failed to rally when set down through the stretch. SULTY made a mild bid in the early stretch, then tired. SLAMARANTH could not keep up and raced wide during the final guarter mile. HAPPY GANDER, forwardly placed from the start, made a game bid nearing the stretch, could not get to the top one when set down for the drive, but easily bested the others. IN A SPIN, caught .between horses on the final turn, was unable to get to the leaders when clear.JANINA tired after showing early foot. ALSIRAL could not keep up. ROYAL TULIP was never prominent.
