Delay Sentencing of Trio In Basketball Bribe Case NEW YORK, N. Y., May 28 UP,. Sentencing of three men, including former Long Island University cage star Jackie Goldsmith, in connection with a basketball "fix" case two years ago was postponed I today until June 24. General Sessions Judge Saul S. Streit ; said the District Attorneys office requested the postponement pending further investigation. Scheduled to have been sentenced today r in addition to the ex-LIU eager were Daniel I Lamont and Joseph Serota. All three pleaded guilty May 8 to bribery j charges in connection with a ,000 offer r made to Connie Schaff, New York University basketball player, to insure the , "betting spread" in the NYU-Cornell game January 1, 1950 in Madison Square Garden. I Each faces a -possible 10-year jail 1 sentence.
