BILL HOWK, steadied on the outside and close to the leaders for a half mile, moved into command when ready and edged away from FICKLE-MAN in the final sixteenth. FICKLE-MAN moved rapidly along the inside to near the leaders before a quarter mile, continued on gamely after disposing of RABS SON, but was no match for the winner. LIMASOL closed with a mild rush on the outside. DEEP DOWN was in the thick of contention and held on stubbornly. DINGHY had no mishap. OCEAN PLAY caught tiring horses. ALTHOR was unable to keep up. LITTLE AUD, kept within striking distance of the pace, moved between horses in the stretch, responded to stout pressure and outfinished ANNIES CHOICE. The latter assumed command at once, set the pace under light restraint, drifted out slightly to give way entering the stretch, rallied inside the final furlong and was catching the winner at the end. CUSTODY raced close to the leader under steadying restraint, assumed command when roused, moved over to the rail and weakened. LIEUTENANT was moving stoutly along the rail when blocked and forced to take up and go around CUSTODY. SHOPPING SPREE flashed speed for a half mile. MY REDEMPTION passed tiring horses. PHIL G., unable to keep up in the early stages, rallied after being straightened for the drive and was along in the final drive to take a close decision. BOY-GENIUS alternated with ORANA in setting the pace, gained a slight command in the stretch, but was not good enough and held on to gain a dead-heat with ORANA. The latter began tiring inside the final sixteenth, but held on gamely. EVERMINE drove up along the inside and was catching the leaders. MISS SICLETTE rushed boldly to be near the pace before a quarter mile, then flattened out. XIPPI PIGEON had no mishap. FIRST CURTAIN flattened out badly when put to pressure. The others were outrun. FIGHTING THRU assumed command at once, was under a hustling ride throughout and held on gamely. TAX FOUR was going well at the end. EIGHT BELLS, close to the pace and on the outside, responded with good energy through the stretch and drew clear at the end. GRAND DEMAND assumed command under steadying restraint, saved ground throughout and had no excuse. SPIDER ROCK forced the pace under light restraint, gained a slight advantage in the stretch, then faltered. MILAN BOY raced in spots. FLY AROUND lacked racing room near the end. ARIELS MARK closed with good energy. PROUD SIR was in close quarters while weakening in the final furlong. LEFT WINGER lacked racing room at the end. Overweight Left Winger, 2 pounds.
