The Big Four was conceived by managing director Henry Green and is restricted to four-year-olds going seven furlongs. The headliner has attracted nine horses and they will line up as follows: The E. F. Lovelace-trained duo of Embers and Jo-jTed, Winter Land, Evenesta, Copsa, He Wolf, Locadah, Oh Linda and Vino Primo. Locadah, which is Hadacol spelled backwards, appears to have the edge in this event. The E. Davis-owned Challedon filly has been running against the best horses stabled at Ascot Park and has fared very well. She won her first race over the track on April 18, when she defeated Even Better at a mile and one-sixteenth by a half length with jockey Kenny Griffith in the irons. Her next appearance was also at a mile and a sixteenth and Even Better evened the score when he earned the deci-I sion with Locadah winding up fourth, but far from being disgraced. She was not seen in action again till may 2, when over a distance of ground, she was defeated by Scrub, beaten three lengths and winding up third. At present, the Davis colorbearer appears to be very much in the Gold Cup picture and this race tomorrow could be a very big one for the filly. Copsa will be seeking her third straight j victory and could be the one to upset Loca- . dah. She won her last race by a length and a quarter over Sea Weather and be- | fore that one took the measure of Sir Ram by a length and a half. Of the others entered, it would appear i as though the Lovelace entry or Evenesta would have the best chances to springing 1 an upset.
