Dark Ruler, Laugh Form Entry in Flushing Purse Todays Belmont Feature Marks Seasonal Debut of Bunnys Babe BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., June 6. — A speedy band of three-year-olds, including Wheatley Stables recent winners, Dark Ruler and Laugh, is slated to meet in Tuesdays featured Flushing Purse at six furlongs here. This dash for a ,000 prize will be the sixth offering on the eight-race card. Ted Atkinson was named this morning to ride Laugh at 117 pounds, while no rider has been assigned as yet to Dark Ruler, who is to carry 120. The two colts won the third and fourth races here last Thursday, each carrying 122 pounds and scoring by an identical four lengths. Laugh, who breaks from number 1 tomorrow, was tele-timed in 1:11, while Dark Ruler equaled the best six-furlong time of the meeting, coasting home in 1:10%. This dash is to mark the seasonal debut of Col. E. P. Bixers Bunnys Babe, who last year won the New Jersey Futurity, Babylon Handicap and New Jersey Breeders Stakes, and finished second in the Flash Stakes and was third to Summer Tan and Nashua in the Cowdin, despite being cut down in the upper stretch. The son of Attention from Mad Bunny has been in steady training at Jamaica for some time, but has the class to be a factor here despite his long absence from the races. Eric Guerin will ride at 120 pounds. Two other of the Flushing candidates come from winning races at this track. Woodley Lane Farms Blue Quest scored rather handily over Thurman I. Harkins Battle Dance and Stephen C. Clark, Jr.s Decimal just lasted to beat Ever Best a head last Monday.
