BLACKAMOOR was close to APPLIABLE for a quarter, then forged to the front on the outside to draw away after entering the stretch and won under mild urging. BLACK STREAM moved up on the outside in the stretch and was racing steadily at the end. BEST WISHES and CLOSING made up ground in the stretch. TASK FLEET broke well but was unable to keep up. NEAL ELYSE was outrun to the stretch turn, then improved her position on the outside under hard urging to wear down GRAND SPICE and be up to win in the final thirty yards. GRAND SPICE shock off ANDY B. W. entering the stretch to open a gocd advantage and held on fairly well. LE SABRE was never far away and raced steadily to the end. RUSSELL .TS was always a fairly prominent contender. ANDY B. W. headed GRAND SPICE after leaving the backstretch but tired badly in the last furlong. LIANAL, off quickly, was outrun by UPSTAGE in the" first part but caught the latter again after entering the stretch to take command, though hustled along to hold CIDERMAN. The latter was a forward factor from the start, and finishing with good courage, was pressing the winner. UPSTAGE drew away from the field after leaving the backstretch but weakened near the end. PRINTERS DEVIL was outpaced to the stretch turn, then improved his position under pressure and, taking command nearing the end, won going away. VIDI was always close to the pace and went well to the end to best SONGLET. The latter followed HEART FLASH closely into the stretch, then headed the field but had little left at the finish. IRISH BRUSH was never too far away and, coming fast on the outside in the last sixteenth, got to the front to win drawing out. AMBIGUOUS sprinted into a good lead after going a short distance, but bore out in the stretch under left handed whipping to interfere with FOXY NED and was disqualified from second place and placed third. FOXY NED was racing well up when he was caught between AMBIGUOUS and IRISH BRUSH and forced to take up, losing his chance. .PRINCE ERIC was never a serious contender. SMACKOVER was well placed in the early running and, coming very fast in the middle of ihe track, caught VAN CROSBY about thirty yards out and von going away. VAN CROSBY displayed good early speed to race LEATHER KID into submission in the first half mile, but was not strong enough to last. LORI-JANE moved up on the inside in the stretch and was pressing VAN CROSBY for second place. ETERNAL FROLIC was racing strongly at the finish. NO RETURN raced wide. LEATHER KID tired. A. Jones; bred by Calumet Farm. IN GATE-5:02. OFF AT 5:02J CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good. Won driving; second and third the same. MARK-YE-WELL broke quickly, but soon dropped back and was taken under steadying restraint, then saved ground down the backstretch and nursed when in close quarters nearing the far turn, responded readily when called upon in the stretch to get to the front near the end and bested WISE MARGIN narrowly in the drive. WISE MARGIN, well placed early, made a resolute run through the stretch and, staging a strong finish, was beaten but narrowly. HASSEYAMPA, badly outrun for seven furlongs, slipped through next to the rail in the stretch while moving up to show in front momentarily a sixteenth out and held on well. MISTER BLACK trailed to the stretch and raced wide in the run home, but was going very fast on the outside at the finish. FLEET BIRD finished with good courage in a creditable effort. SMOKE SCREEN lacked much early speed and, while finishing steadily, did not theraten. PELOUSE drew into a rather lengthy lead after rounding the stretch turn, but was not good enough. SEA 0 ERIN was used up keeping pace with PELOUSE in the first six furlongs and tired badly. SIR TRIBAL and BUGLEDRUMS dropped cut of it in the last quarter. Scratched 517451 Blue Choir, 117.
