COLONEL ZEDER raced evenly within striking distance of the leaders to the stretch,, assumed command during the drive and lasted to withstand AMBUSHED, but won with little left. The latter gradually worked way forward to the stretch, bore to the inside during the drive and could not overtake the top one, although much the best of the others. DICK JUNIOR went to the front early set the pace until inside the stretch, then weakened. LITTLE LIGE was outrun and had no mishap. VYRhad early speed, but failed to stay. FLYING GYPSY saved ground from the start, made a good bid entering the stretch, then failed to rally when set down for the drive. COJOC was never dangerous. OISEAU ROUGE showed little. FIDGET went to the front early, set the pace to the stretch under steady handling, then drew clear when subjected to mild urging. SUFFKI, well placed and saving ground from the, start, closed determinedly under punishment but cquld not seriously threaten the winner. TACARO, on the outside for the stretch run, finished willingly but could not overtake SUFFKI. BUSTER JIM lacked early fpot and1 raced wide through the stretch. ABLE LADD tired after racing forwardly placed to the stretch. RIDDLETON was outrun and had no excuse. MERRY SWEEPER was never prominent. ALDO KID could not keep up. Scratched 32650 Quick Step, 116. ALL COMERS, a sharp factor from the start, reached the lead between calls before entering the stretch, drifted out and lost command to PIT AWAY, then came again when set down in the drive and, disposing of the latter, won going away. PIT AWAY, never far back and saving ground, went to the front entering the stretch and settled for the drive with a clear margin "but could not hold the winner, although easily best of the others. QUEEN MARGIE had early speed but failed to stay. FRALUXE began sluggishly and was never dangerous. OAK LEACH was through early.
