Jockey Blum snugly rated him for five furlongs and retained a light hold on him into the stretch, then the colt willingly responded and was evenly holding his rivals safe under hand urging at the end while running with authority. MR. AL L. was steadied leaving the gate and was steered to the rail for saving of ground. He found ample room rushing to the leaders on the stretch turn and loomed boldly, but was not gaining at the end and narrowly bested WESTWARD HO. The latter was reserved racing outside horses into the backstretch, raced into closer contention under rousing on the final turn, then was gaining only gradually under hard punishment in the final stages. JABNEH, unhurried while outrun, found an opening between horses at the head of the stretch and finished with good courage.
