Ten Milers Entered In ThistleDown Event . Euclid, Luciete and Haltom, Winners at Meeting, Compete THISTLEDOWN North Randall, Ohio, June, 23. An allowance race titled the Bali Hal Purse for 10 middle distance runners at one mile heads Mondays program as this track settles back following todays running of the Ohio Derby. In the feature, Gene Lottis Tandem of Euclid and Brandys Last are slated to compete against Best Air, Pussy Cat, Private Affair, Pat the Pilot, Luciete, Pulsator, Haltom and Burnt Child. Several of the group have already turned in impressive victories at the current session. Euclid, Haltom and Luciete are in this category. Euclid came from last position with a powerful rush to capture a dash of six furlongs in his most recent start here and the added distance offered Monday should be in his favor, judging from his record on paper. Luciete, owned and trained by John Zit-niR, has made two starts at this session, winning the first one and ending up second in the next try. While she has not tried a distance longer than six furlongs this season Luciete is capable of going a mile. Although she did not compete at one mile last year, she performed at distances slightly shorter and a trifle longer and managed to chalk up an enviable record of seven talligs, four placings and a third from 14 appearances. Owned by Royal Mani Stable, Haltom produced his winning effort when going one and a sixteenth miles. This six-year-old son of Blenheim n. So Rare gained a purse by a length and a half at the direct expense of Junes Bug, who denied Brandys Last of the place award by a nose margin. Burnt Child must be accorded a chance on the strength of finishing second to Selmsgrove traversing the same distance required in Mondays encounter. Best Air was third to Mary H in her initial attempt locally and turned in a game effort.
