NBA Notifies LaMotta WASHINGTON, D. C, May 2 UP .—The National Boxing Association notified middleweight champion Jake LaMotta today it is "greatly concerned" about his title defense plans and asked him to advise the NBA within a week about his intentions. The NBA reminded LaMotta that it requires champions to defend their titles against NBA-rated challengers every six months.
