WENT TO POST— 5:05. OFF AT 5:05 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won easily; second and third driving. EB, reserved for three-quarters, moved strongly when ready after leaving the backstretch and, after overtaking the leader entering the last furlong, easily drew out near the end. SHOES, following the pace closely under restraint and heading the field in the stretch, raced gamely to the end, but was not quite good enough. FARMINGTON made up some ground when given free rein and outfinished SHADOW SHOT. The latter was close enough in the early stages and went fairly well to the end. PRECEDER was closer to the pace than usual in the first part, but had nothing when called upon. NIGHT BIRD III. and COINELLA petered out when the real racing began. Scratched— 00944 Cassina, 110. Overweight— Farmington, 3 pounds. Attendance, 20,339; Total Mutuel Pool, ,561,158
