Th ree Stakes-Winning Fillies Named for Hollywood Lassie HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewood, June 24. — Topped by the only three two-year-old fillies in the state to have won stakes this year, 22 juvenile misses are named for the 5,000-added Hollywood Lassie Stakes on Friday, July 5 at Hollywood Park. The five and one-half furlong Hollywood Lassie annually determines the championship among the two-year-old fillies at the meeting and topping the list of nominations released today by Racing Secretary John Maluvius are Kerr Stables Glorious Nymph and the Covert Ranchs Sally Lee and Pie Face. Pie Face was the first to garner a stakes victory. She defeated Glorious Nymph in winning the San Mateo Debutante at Bay Meadows. Glorious Nymph has bagged a pair of added-money events in going unbeaten at the Hollywood Park session thus far. She won the Junior League and Cinderella Stakes in her only two tries. Sally Lee joined the circle last week when she handled a good band in the five and one - half furlong Nursery Stakes, whipping Cymbidium and Stumbling Block in 1:04%. Cymbidium and Stumbling Block also are named for the Lassie.
