Longden on Annual Vancouver Visit for Boys Day Program HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewood, Calif., June 24. — Johnny Longden, only one winner behild leader Bill Shoemaker in the torrid jockey race, will miss the competition here Tuesday but will be back Wednesday. Agent Basil Smith reports Longden left for Vancouver over the week end to ride there on the annual Boys Day program. "John makes the trip every year," Basil said. "He was slated to get in some fishing yesterday and today on Max Bells new boat." Longden has 39 winners for the meeting, to 40 for Shoemaker. Between them they have accounted for 10 of the last 11 Hollywood Park riding championships.
