SHEEPSKIN, smartly rated behind the leader remained in hand until- the final three-eighths, moved on the outside of the leader and,- after gaining command going into the stretch, drew off and evenly withstood FOR FREE. The latter, snugged along early, rallied strongly in the final guarter mile and was going gamely irf the final sixteenth. BROOKVILLE raced slightly wide while holding a good early lead, readily gave up command when challenged by the winner and tired slightly thereafter. GOLD GIN came from far back to best the others.
