Amoret Looms Delaware Topweight Peg Calumet Filly At 125 Saturday PrincessTuria, New Castle Winner, to Tote 119 Pounds; Levee, 122; Tana Linda, 120 By PALMER HEAGERTY DELAWARE PARK, Stanton; Del., June 24. — Calumets Amoret today loomed the starting topweight under 125 pounds in Saturdays 50,000 Delaware Handicap, richest filly-and-mare race in the world and concluding classic of Delawares quarter-million-dollar Distaff Big Three series. Racing secretary J. Gilbert Haus released his weights today for the mile and a quarter event. Actually, he placed Claiborne Farms Doubledogdare at -the head of his list at 128 pounds, two over the weight-- for-age scale, but last years champion of the three-year-old fillies has recently retired. Amoret, winner of the Columbiana and Black Helen handicaps at Hialeah last winter, drops one pound from the impost she carried Saturday in the mile and a sixteenth New Castle Stakes, second of the Big Three races in which she ran ninth . after running into trouble midway of the stretch while rallying. Amorets stablemate, Princess Turia, was the winner under 116 pounds. She must carry 119 in the Delaware. Mrs. Vernon G. Cardys Levee, generally rated second to Doubledogdare in voting on laskyears sophomore fillies, gets in at 122 pounds, or two more than the Argentine star, Tana Linda. Grouped with Princess Turia at 119 are Little Pache and Rare Treat — eighth and sixth, respectively, in • the New Castle — .each dropping one pound. ManoHck Second Last Year Manotick, fourth in the New Castle under 116, is weighted at 118 for the Delaware, in which she ran second last year. Five are bracketed at 117 — the 1956 winner, Flower Bowl, now retired; Otomana, Eugenia n., Pucker Up and Kings Mistake. The last named was tenth in the New Castle under 120 and stumbled at the head of the stretch. Nasrina, third in the New Castle under 116, gets the same impost in the Delaware, the same assigned Venomous, Ficha, Beau-tillion, Aysha and Solid Rae. Listed at 115 are Floral Park, full sister- to Flower Bowl; Dotted Line, 1956 Delaware Oaks heroine; Attica, beaten a nose by Princess Turia under three pounds less; Tournure, fifth in the New Castle with a pound more; Our Betters and Partiquina. Haus puts Romanita at the top. of the three-year-olds nominated. The one currently holding the best claim to the title in that division — Claiborne Farms Bayou, winner of the Delaware Oaks and Acorn and a close second in the Coaching Club American Oaks on Saturday, is weighted at 111, along with Estacion, Happy Princess and Palace Dancer.
