PROUD WAY, off taridly, was forced to steady along the inside on rounding the first turn, again on leaving ,the backstretch which he was brought out for the drive and, under strong handling, wore down LYNNBROOK ROAD ia the final strides. The latter, never far back, moved to the fore from the outside nearing the quarter-mile ground, drew clear under pressure and just failed to last. CHEAP THRILL had her speed, saved ground while going greenly and faltered after hitting the inner rail at the top of the front straightaway. PEN CASE lacked early sped and raced wide while advancing. BLUE SLIPPER was through early. ELLEN VAN lost all chance while attempting to bolt on the first turn. Scratched— 18507 Venetian Melody, 115; Cookie Jar, 115. AVE forced the early pace while in hand, came to the outside of FINAL MOVE to displace that one on entering the stretch and v/as all out to hold INTERMITTENT safe. The latter, slow to settle in stride, moved up fast on the outside when setlted down and finished full of run. FINAL MOVE held on fairly well after making the pace for nearly a half mile. CORONATION BOY found hir best stride too late. MISS NAYLOR was outrun in a dull effort. The latter, unhurried while being outrun early/rallied from between horses in the late stages and finished full of run. REDRUTH had her speed, saved ground and held on stubbornly in a long drive.
