PROGRESS IN CALIFORNIA TEST CASE. San Francisco. Cal.. July 12. The cases of the three men arrested at the Ingleside Coursing Park by Lieutenant Tobin and posse and charged with violating the Walker-Otis anti-betting law. were called before Police Judge Shortall. Attorney Carroll Cook apcarcd for the defendants and secured a continuance for John Jones and John McKeon. two of the defendants. The other defendant. Prank OShea. remained in jail in order that Attorney Cook could secure a writ of habeas corpus, by which he hopes to bring tins test to an immediate issue in the Superior Court.
