General Lee began slowly, but moved up gamely in the last quarter and wore the others down for second place. Royal Oak tan well, but tired near the end. Dr. Pillow was knocked back soon after the start aud closed a big gap in the last half. Searchlight showed the most early speed, but quit badly after going a half. Odin and Mercia were prominent for the lirst quarter. The winner, entered for 00. was hid up to 00 and bought in. Gait blundered frequently, yet loomed up dangerously when approaching the last jump, but tired unexpectedly. Prince of Pllsen struck, the seventh fence and. his rider lost a stirrup, causing him to drop back, then went lame after going over the tenth Jump. Pulka only ran fairly well. .My Gal labored in the going and was a distant trailer for three furlongs, hut was going fast at the end and would have been third in a few more strides. Billy Pullman dropped out of forward contention soon after the start, but closed up with a rush In the last quarter. Ketchemike showed the most early speed, but quit in the last furlong and bore out badlv. Protagonist retired after going a half. The winner, entered for 00. was bid up to KK and liought In.
