GOING INTO RACING MORE EXTENSIVELY New York. July 12. That iRobert V, Little, the gentleman whose colors the stout little Prince of Melbourne gelding. The Squire. Is bearing with credit this season, intends to go into racing on a somewhat extended scale, became evident at the Keene yearling sale Saturday. Mr. Little was an active bidder on half a dozen smart youngsters and succeeded in making three prominent purchase. . He paid S3.100 for a Ikij- colt by Ben Brush, out of White Rose; ,000 for a bay tilly. by Disguise, out or Anomaly, and 00 for a bay filly, bv Dis guise, out of Ladasiiie. Ladaslne Is a young mare that has not distinguished herself as a producer. But Anomaly was the dam of a 110 less f annus horse than Superman, the Brxklyn Handicap winner In 1000. and the Ally- from her that Mr. Little purchased Is a sister to Superman. The Ben Brush White Rose colt Is a half-brother to Rose , Oneen. a mare that is making things huin In Canada these days; also to White Chapel and Divination. At the sales earlier In the week Sir. Little failed to purchase a yearling half-brother to The Squire, bv Sir Dixon, out of Homespun, although he took the colt to 000. But he paid CO for a colt bv Handspring, out of Pensa. 00 for a brown colt by Wihl ISlint. out of Jennie. SleCalre. and S125 for a colt b- Prince of IMellKiurue. out of Lily Gray. Mr. Little is a New Yorker of ample means with a liking for raw horses. It is probable that Thomas Welsh, who is handling The Squire for hm, Uiay
