NOTES OF THE TURF. George Kraus two-year-old filly. Our Hannah, has developed into a bleeder. The horses, of Richard T. Wilson. Jr.. and August Belmont will be shipped from Belmont Park to Empire City today. Chills, a recent winner at Butte, was bought by Dan Dennison for .0 at the dispersal sale of T. II. Williams stable last sring. Roy Seidell, an apprentice rider in the employ of J. F. Clifford, sustained a fractured skull in a fall at Victoria last, week and is not expected to survive. Carroll Reld lias shipped his stringhalted horse, Ben Trovato, to Saratoga and the horse will be seen In selling races at the big August meeting at the Spa". Hon. Joseph E. Seagram, president of the Ontario Jockey Club, is a daily visitor at Fort Erie. Most of Ids horses being out of condition, his colors have been infrequently seen. It develops that Maltblo struck himself in the race in which he ran disappointingly a few davs ago. George Relr, his owner, thinks that the horse will handle weight well enough. Waller McCreery. a prominent English turfman, who suffered recently from nervous breakdown, lias decided to sell his racing stud. The sale will take place at Newmarket this week. 1-ong Branch, X1. J., saw real racing and betting recently in connection with a hunt club meeting. NolNxly was shocked and the New Jersey resort Is hoping for more of the same sort of sport. James Guffney will buy a horse to replace Julia Powel, the illly whose deatli was brought alxiut b-an accident at Shceishead Bay last week. He .will not buy any yearlings, however, preferring to purchase ready-made racers. Maskette will not race at Empire City, but will go direct from Sheepshcad Bay to Saratoga in a day or two, where it is possible that she may meet Fitz Herbert in a race that will decide the three-year-old championship. P. T. Chliiu says that Piute and others of his horses will lie raced in Canada until the Saratoga meeting liegins. and will then be shipped to the Slia. At Saratoga Piute will tackle the good eastern tlircV-yoar-ohls in such races as the Saratoga. Sar-anac, Cliamplaiu and Delaware Handicaps and the Saratoga Cup.
