DEVONSHIRE TURF NOTES WINDSOR. OnL, Aug. 1C. Clarence McCrossen who is under contract to James Arthur shows great promise as a rider. S. N. Holman has transferred his contract on H. Hay to Jerome B. Respass for indefinite period. Odd Scth when being brought over from Windsor was frightened by a street car and fell and cut his leg. The Tri-State Stable represented by Young Adam claimed Lady Marian from T. Nicholson for ,500. Deadlock broke down during the running of the fourth race and will be out of training for scmo time. Among those who will leave for Marlboro after the Devonshire meeting are C. De-berry, who will have charge of the jockey room ; Jockeys D. Stirling, G. Corey, H. Holmes and M. Schwartz. Judge Ed. Knebclkamp, who is one of the officials at Devonshire will leave tonight for his home in Cincinnati to spend a few days before taking up his duties as presiding stew-art at the Society Race meeting at the North Shore Polo Grounds, Chicago. Reprimand, who was claimed by S. A. Cowan, the Detroit sportsman, broke down so badly it was necessary to put his ankle in a plaster cast. He is being attended by Dr. J. C. Mitchell, who formerly rode with much success in America and abroad.
