WOODBINE STAKES FORT ERIE, Ont, Aug. 16. W. P. Fraser, secretary and treasurer of the Ontario Jockey Club is enthusiastic over the prospects for the meeting of the meeting which opens at Woodbine, September 24 and continues to October 1. Stake blanks for the seven-day program were ristributed here. The stakes close August 25. The array is a notable one and is as follows: The Toronto Autumn Cup, 0,000 added, one mile and a quarter; the Ontaria Jockey Club Cup, ,500 added, two miles and a quarter; the Seagram Handicap, ,000 added, one mile and a sixteenth ; the Grey Stakes for two-year-olds, ,000 added, one mile ; the Woodbine Autumn Steeplechase Handicap, ,000 added, two and one-half miles ; Hendrie Steeplechase Handicap, 0,000 added, three miles; the Durham Cup, ,500 added, Canadian-breds, one mile and three-quarters ; Lansdowne Nursery Handicap, ,000 added, Canadian-bred two-year-olds, six furlongs. 2L000 will be distributed during the course of the seven days, 6,000 being for steeplechases.
